August 29, 2025. Dr Dobbs told me it could be two weeks, two months, or two years from then, but I needed PERCs. (Adults often need time after SDR to see what tightness remains.)
It helped that Dr. Williams had spent 30 minutes earlier in the day explaining why, even after SDR, I still needed the procedure. So, I was headed into surgery again.
On November 20th, 2025, I had bilateral gastrocnemius PERCS.
Below you will find an explanation of GASTROC PERCs. It includes researched pros, cons and things to consider. Because of the immediate freedom after SDR, the rehabilitation after PERCs has felt slower and with fewer benefits. But, I am still confident in both procedures. If I could have had SDR done as a child. I would have hoped to have had both procedures performed simulataneously. As an adult, I am thankful for the real freedom felt after SDR without the pain in my calves to taint the feeling.
